Gotta sidetrack a little now.... I came across a friend of mine who has a very peculiar problem: He doesn't like to go to the public toilet. Most of the time, he will want to hold on to his bladder till her goes home. I wonder why that happens, so I kinda ask him to go to the public toilet with me one day.
He rejected the suggestion, and did it quite rudely. So I thought maybe I should ask him nicely about the reason why. After much asking, he shared with me that he doesn't like to go to public toilets as it will cause him stress when using them. I wonder, "How can it be a stress when it comes to peeing?" That's something that I don't understand. I'll have to bade him farewell early due to this little peeing issue. I when online to check about people who are afraid to pee in public toilets. And I found out that this is a medical condition for Paruresis, or commonly known as the shy bladder. I read that it is a condition where a person cannot use the public toilet to relief themselves. These people are stressed in using public toilets. As it happens to men most of the time, many of them did not want to share this with their friends due to pride. I check on the stats and found that there are over 21 MILLION AMERICANS suffering from this condition?!?!? That's quite a huge number! In fact, the number could be bigger as many of them did not report this. So, knowing this, I want to find out if there are possible treatment. One of the most common treatment is to seek Hypnosis treatment. As Paruresis is largely a mindset blockage, many people do get treated. As such, I meet up with my friend and ask him to try to overcome shy bladder by visiting a Hypnotist. Of course it's not easy to convinced him but after much discussion he decides to seek treatment. In addition, I get him to visit the official association for Paruresis here. I hope that this would help him out and get him to get over this pesky issue of shy bladder. So let's wish him luck!
